The DC-501 is a revolutionary backflow prevention device which consists of two independently acting, spring-loaded check valves. It also features four test cocks and two built-in resilient seated shut-off valves which round-out the assembly. With an operating pressure of 150 psi and temperatures up to 110 degrees (F), the double check backflow preventer from A.R.I. is constructed to supply exceptional protection and resilience against back flow caused by negative or opposite pressure.
The 3/4" double check backflow preventer is recommended where the degree of contamination is considered low hazard and doesn?t require the use of a reduce pressure device installed in high hazard applications. This trustworthy and minimally maintained assembly doesn't require specialized equipment to service as its two, easily replaceable, spring check valves are situated in independent capsules. This modular design, and nylon composite body, makes it the backflow of tomorrow.
Each check valve is designed to maintain a minimum of 1 PSI across the backflow preventer in normal standard operation. If at any time the pressure leaving the mechanism increases above the incoming pressure, both check valves will seal to prevent any backflow from occurring.
